Super Visa Insurance

Supervisa Insurance is required to obtain Supervisa. A supervisa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time without having to renew their status. It’s a visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years.

Supervisa Insurance is kind of travel insurance that protects against the cost of unexpected medical emergencies that may occur during their trip in Canada.

Requirements of Supervisa Insurance

  • must be purchased from a Canadian insurance company.
  • be paid in full, or in instalments with a deposit (quotes aren’t accepted)
  • be valid for at least 1 year from the date you’ll enter Canada.
  • cover your health care, hospitalization, and repatriation.
  • provide for at least $100,000 emergency coverage.

What is covered under
Supervisa Insurance:

Emergency Hospital Semi-private hospital accommodation up to sum insured.
   
Emergency Medical Services of physician, surgeon, anesthetist Diagnostics, lab test and/or x-ray
Licensed local land and or sea ambulance to the nearest hospital Private duty services of a registered graduate nurse up to $10,000
Rental or purchase of medical appliances
Drugs or Medications Professional Services Up to $1,000 per prescription – 30-day supply Physiotherapist, chiropractor, chiropodist, osteopath, etc.
Emergency air transportation Included
Transportation of Family Up to $3,000 to transport one family member
Follow-up Visits Up to 3 follow-up visits
Accidental Dental Up to $4,000 for emergency treatment for accidental blow  to the face
Dental Emergencies Up to $500 for the immediate relief of acute dental pain
Return of Deceased Up to $10,000 for return of remains.

Are refunds available:

  • Full refund is available if supervisa is refused.
  • Full refund available if policy is cancelled before the start date if you are no longer eligible for insurance.
  • Full refund if policy is cancelled with 10 days of purchase.
  • $250 deducted - Policy cancelled before departure from home country for any other reason.
  • $50 deducted - early return to home country before expiry date or become eligible for provincial health card.
  • Admin fee for set up of monthly payment plan is non-refundable.
  • No refund of premium if there is claim on insurance policy.
